Visual art and design
In Visual Arts, students are inspired by both contemporary and traditional arts practices.
They are taught critical and creative thinking skills and are encouraged to explore broadly to produce expressive and innovative works, which are then skilfully resolved.
Students work with a range of contemporary media including installation, video, sculpture, textiles, painting, printmaking, ceramics and drawing.
Our young artists work towards the annual St George’s Art Exhibition, which is one of the highlights of the school calendar.
The Design Photography course provides students with a creative outlet in graphics while having a strong focus on photography. Students work through a range of projects where they apply design principles to their projects creating innovative 2D and 3D works.
Well equipped with industry standard cameras, computers and software, students can confidently explore the commercial world of photography and design.
